Charity Department

The charities are the beating heart of the organisation – they are what it is all about. The Charities Department maintains intensive contact with these charity organisations and makes agreements, conducts evaluations and makes payments.

It also considers applications from organisations that might be eligible for support from the lottery. The charity lotteries and their beneficiaries meet twice a year to discuss the developments within their respective organisations and their areas of activity. At the end of each year the Charities Department presents a proposal to the Executive Board that suggests how the money raised by the lotteries should be divided among the charity organizations. The Supervisory Board has the final say as to how the money is allocated.

The lottery’s contributions to the beneficiaries are freely disposable at the beneficiaries’ discretion for every area of their work - as long as it is within the lottery’s field of activity. The beneficiary organisations can determine their own priorities, and they give an account on this to the lottery each year.

Since Novamedia’s mission is to raise funds for charities and increase awareness for their work, Novamedia takes the formal relationship with the charities seriously. The way we choose the beneficiaries is transparent and is based on a list of criteria.

Contracts with the beneficiaries summarize the rights and obligations of both parties. Years of experience have resulted in this document. Which facilitates the cooperation and controls the sensitivities. Besides a contract, there are evaluation criteria available, allowing both parties to have a structured discussion on how the proceeds have been spent. Back...
