The Swedish Postcode Lottery has both a commercial and a non-profit-making side. Responsibility for these two facets is divided between Novamedia Svenska PostkodLotteriet AB, which looks after the commercial side, and Svenska PostkodFöreningen- the Swedish Postcode Association-, that attends to the non-profit-making side.

The Swedish Lottery is based on the same format as the other Postcode Lotteries, where the postcode is the basis of the lottery number. A lottery ticket costs 150 Swedish kronor per month, which is approximately 15 euros.

732 million to charity

The Swedish Postcode Lottery started in September 2005 and has since become very popular with the Swedes. The Swedish Postcode Lottery continued to grow in 2010, raising 732 million SEK for charities in 2010, which was 264 million SEK more than in 2009.
