Ecolot was set up in 1995 by Novamedia in Uzbekistan (which emerged from the ruins of the former Soviet Union) and supports the emergence of the country's fledgling non-governmental environmental and development organisations.

Good causes

Ecolot contributes 50% of its net proceeds to good causes.

License

The lottery license is expired in 2009. An application to prolongue the license is filed.
