Summer Loving for Edinburgh as Lottery Win Comes to Town

While the rest of the UK tightens their belts and carefully counts their pennies, residents in the East of Edinburgh are rubbing their hands in glee- for the area has landed the People’s Postcode Lottery’s largest ever prize pot.

It’s set to be a summer like no other as a staggering £2.2 million will be shared between players living in Edinburgh’s EH15 3 postcode area, with the lion’s share of the prize going to the full winning postcode- to be revealed at a fantastic party for winners and residents alike on July 18th.

Known as the ‘Postcode Rollover’, the prize was last won by residents in the Northern town of Thurso, where main winners Mark and Maureen Jamieson scooped an eye-popping £834,824- making them near-millionaires overnight.

Festivities
It’ll be rich pickings for those attending the celebratory party on the 18th- not only will players discover how much they’ve won, but the festivities are set to be star-studded too.

People’s Postcode Lottery presenters Angus Purden, Jean Johansson and Judie McCourt will be joined on stage by an undisclosed singing sensation, who will perform an exclusive live set.

The secret star, to be revealed at a later date, follows in the footsteps of chart toppers Darius and Chipmunk, who each performed exclusive live sets at previous Rollover celebrations.

Lucky Edinburgh
Edinburgh local and lottery presenter Angus said “We’re so thrilled to be holding our Summer Postcode Rollover party in Edinburgh! The moment our winners discover how much they’ve won is always a very special one, and I can’t wait to surprise some fellow Auld Reekie residents with the news.”

It’s not the first time an EH postcode has been lucky with People’s Postcode Lottery’s Postcode Rollover, with Bo’ness residents sharing £1.5 million last summer. Further details of the free celebratory party on Sunday 18th will be released in the press and online at www.postcodelottery.com over the next fortnight.
