Novamedia/Postcode Lotteries annual results 2020 showcases year of 7% growth

 

Unrestricted funding of significance for charities to take immediate action during crisis

 

According to the American consultancy firm California Environmental Associates, the Postcode Lotteries are 7th in the top 20 maritime philanthropic funders for the period 2010-2016.

Thanks to all the players, Novamedia/Postcode Lotteries have been able to continue being that loyal financer for charities and good causes in 2020. The lotteries’ combined revenue amounted to 2.1 billion Euro, representing a 7% ticket sales growth compared to 2019.

Novamedia continues to successfully fulfill its mission for a green and fair world through organizing what might be the safest game of chance worldwide*. The lotteries long-term, unrestricted flexible funding currently supports the work and ideals of 1,065 organisations and thousands of social initiatives. In 2020, immediate additional financial support was given to charities that reached out to the lotteries during the pandemic. With these extra donations human suffering could be prevented or alleviated, and the situation of vulnerable people improved.

Thanks to the players with 13 million subscriptions, Novamedia/Postcode Lotteries have been able to continue being that loyal financer for charities and good causes. The lotteries’ combined revenue amounted to 2.1 billion Euro, representing a 7% ticket sales growth compared to 2019. In 2020, a total of 800 million Euro was raised. This means 2,2 million Euro per day for charities and good causes. Players received prizes and gifts worth 760 million Euro, creating more than 20 million joyful moments of winning in the lottery.

Great Britain (People’s Postcode Lottery) and Germany (Deutsche Postcode Lotterie) show fastest growth within the group. These two lotteries contributed greatly to the growth from 12,2 million subscriptions in 2019 to13 million in 2020.
